Contoh 1
Fitri: I didn’t bring my pen. May I borrow yours? [Saya tidak membawa pena saya. Mungkin saya boleh meminjammilik Anda?]
Budi: Which one? I have some pens. I have the blue, red, and black. [Yang mana? Saya memiliki beberapa pena. Saya memiliki pena biru, merah, dan hitam.]
Fitri: The black one, please. [Tolong pena yang warna hitam.]
Budi: Here you are. [Ini silahkan.]
Fitri: Thanks. [Terima kasih.]

Contoh 2
Miss Indah: Danu, can you help me, please? [Danu, dapatkah kamu membantu ibu?]
Danu: Yes, ma’am. What is it? [Iya bu. Bantu apa bu?]
Miss Indah: Can you get me my dictionary and absence book in the teacher’s office? [Bisakah kamumengambilkan kamus dan buku absen ibu di kantor guru?]
Danu: All right, ma’am. [Baiklah, Bu.]
Miss Indah: It’s on my table. It’s thick and the colour is blue. It has my name on it. [Itu ada di meja ibu. Kamusnya tebal dan berwarna biru. Ada nama ibu di atasnya.]
Danu: Don’t worry ma’am. I’ll find it. [Jangan kuatir Bu. Aku akan menemukannya.]
Miss Indah: Thank you very much Danu. [Terima kasih banyak Danu.]
Danu: Never mind. [Tidak masalah Bu.]

Dialogue 1
Lisa :
Are you from Lampung?
Apakah kamu dari Lampung?
Nisa:
Yes, I am. Are you from Lampung?
Iya, benar. Apakah kamu dari Lampung?
Lisa :
No, I am not. I am from Bandung.
Tidak. Aku dari Bandung.
Keterangan :
  • Admitting Fact : saat Nisa mengakui fakta bahwa ia berasal dari Lampung.
  • Denying Fact : saat Lisa mengingkari fakta bahwa ia berasal Dari Lampung, karena fakta yang sebenarnya ia berasal dari Bandung.

Dialogue 2
Joy :
Is it your first day to go to this school? I never see you before!
Apakah ini hari pertamamu pergi kesekolah ini? Aku tidak pernah melihatmu sebelumnya!
Vay:
No, it isn’t actually! It’s my second day here.
Tidak, ini hari kedua aku datang kesini.
Joy :
Are you new student here?
Apakah kamu murid baru?
Vay:
Absolutely!
Ya, benar!
Keterangan :
  • Admitting Fact : saat Vay mengakui fakta bahwa ia adalah seorang murid baru disekolah itu.
  • Denying Fact : saat Vay mengingkari fakta bahwa hari itu adalah hari pertama ia datang kesekolah itu, karena faktanya itu bukanlah hari pertama dia datang kesekolah ittu melainkan itu adalah hari kedua ia datang.


Contoh Dialog Asking And Giving Opinion

(In Mall)

Dian : Ratna, do you see that shoes? (Ratna apakah kamu melihat sepatu itu?)
Ratna : where is Dian? (Dimana Dian?)
Dian : Look the red one! (lihat yang warna merah)
Ratna : wow! it is so good (wow! sangat bagus)
Dian : what do you think if I use it? (bagaimana menurutmu jika aku menggunakan nya?)
Ratna : I think it is suitable with you and your appearance (aku rasa ini cocok untuk mu dan penampilan mu)
Dian : I think so, well I will buy (aku rasa begitu, baiklah aku mau beli)


(In school)
Teacher : students you should submit your homework today (anak-anak kalian harus mengumpul PR kalian hari ini)
Students : But, we still doing that mom (tapi kami masih mengerjakanya bu)
Teacher : this is the limit of the time (ini batasan waktunya)
Students : how if we submit it tomorrow ma’am? (bagaimana jika kami mengumpulkan nya besok bu?)
Teacher : No, I think you can finish that as soon as posible (tidak, aku rasa kalian dapat menyelesaikanya sesegera mungkin)
Students : okay, we will try ma’am (baiklah akan kita coba bu)

Asking and giving opinion merupakan hal yang mudah untuk di pelajari dalam kalimat bahasa inggris, asalkan kita tau dimana dan dengan siapa kita berbicara (formal or non formal). Terus belajar bahasa inggris ya sahabat KBI

B: Yes, that would be lovely, where will we meet?
A: We will meet at your house, is that okay?
B: That's okay, and, what time is it going to be?
A: Around... 5 O' Clock
B: I have an activity at 5 O'clock, can it be changed to Half past 5?
A: Okay then see you at Half past 5, bye

Dialog 2
Indra : Hi, Anya. Have you seen The Conjuring movie?
Anya : Hi, Indra. I have not seen that movie. Why?
Indra : Would you like to see The Conjuring movie with me tonight?
Anya : Unfortunately. I can’t because I am scared horror movie.
Indra : Okay if you are scared horror movie. Shall we come to fireworks party in the downtown?
Anya : When it happen?
Indra : Tonight, dear. How?
Anya : Really?
Indra : Yeah, if you can.
Anya : With pleasure, Ndra. I like fireworks very much.
Indra : Okay, I will pick you up at 8 pm.

Vira     : I don’t think so. She prefers boys’ activities, right?
Kupikir tidak. Dia tomboy, kan?

Arga    : Umm… What do you think if we buy her a skateboard?
Umm… Bagaimana kalau kita membelikannya sebuah papan luncur/skate?

Vira     : I agree with you. I think she will be happy to get it.
Aku setuju denganmu. Kupikir dia akan sendang mendapatkannya.
Arga    : Do you think we can go to the shop on Sunday?
Apa menurutmu kita bisa pergi ke toko hari minggu?

Vira     : I like your idea. Okay! We will look for a skateboard on Sunday.
Aku suka idemu. Oke! Kita akan mencari papan seluncur/skate hari minggu.
Anyway, what do you think if we ought to go to the shop by driving your car?
Ngomong-ngomong, apa kamu fikir kita sebaiknya pergi ke tokonya dengan
mengendarai mobilmu?
Arga    : I disagree with you. It will better if we use public transportation. It will be faster. I
am afraid if we are trapped on occlusion if I drive my car.
Aku tidak setuju denganmu. Lebih baik kita menggunakan angkutan umum. Itu akan
lebih cepat. Aku takut nanti kita akan terjebak dalam keadaan macet kalau aku harus
mengendarai mobilku.
Vira     : Umm… Well, I am with you then. See you later!
Umm… Baiklah, aku setuju denganmu. Sampai ketemu lagi.
Arga    : See you too.
Sampai ketemu juga.




COMPLIMENT AND CONGRATULATION
Contoh dialog: Expressing Complinet and Congratulation
Situation 1
Andi had passed on his final semester test. On the way home, he meets Desi, his friend. She congratulates and compliments Andi.
Desi : Hi, Andi. How are you doing?
Andi : I am fine, thanks.
Desi : It’s very nice to meet you here, Andi. You look great today! I love your new hair style.
Andi : Thank you very much, Desi. You look great, too.
Desi : Thanks, Andi. By the way, how was your test? Have you got the result?
Andi : Yes, I’ve got it. You know what? I have passed for the final test. I’m so happy right now.
Desi : That’s great. Congratulations! How’s the score?
Andi : Thanks God. I got the highest score for the test.
Desi : Wow, that’s amazing. I know you are very smart, Andi. Well done!
Andi : Thanks for your compliment, Desi. You are so kind.
Desi : Never mind Andi. It’s my pleasure.
Situation 2
Andi has won the national novel writing competition. The next day, Riska and Joko come to his house to congratulate him
Riska : Is it true what the newspaper’s headline said?
Andi : What news?
Joko : The news about you winning the national novel writing competition. Is it really you?
Andi : Yeah. It is me.
Riska : Congratulations! We’re happy for you.
Andi : Thanks a lot guys.
Joko : It’s a terrific job, Andi.
Andi : Oh, no, I guess it’s just my luck.



INVITATION CARD

Dialogue 1:
Andra : Hello Dian, how are you?
Dian    : I am alright, what about you?
Andra  : I am fine, too. I got a brochure that there will be Sheila on 7 concert on next Sunday.
Dian    : Whoah, I just knew that.
Andra  : Yeah, that’s why I tell you now, because you are a big fan of Sheila on 7. I want you to come to the concert with me if you don’t mind.
Dian    : Sure. It’s my pleasure. And please save me in the crowded 
Andra  : Of course, I will.




Dialogue 2:
Vina is very busy doing her English homework, while Sheila, her friend,phones Vina to come to her party.
Sheila   :  Hello, this is Sheila. May I speak to Vina?
Vina       :  This is Vina speaking.
Sheila  :  Oh, hi Vina. I wonder if you’d like to come to my house tonight. We’re having a great party.
Vina     :  I don’t think I can. I’m doing my homework. I’m afraid I couldn’t finish my homework.
Sheila  :  That’s alright.
Vina     :  I hope you enjoy your party.

Sheila  :  Thanks Vina.
